Daniella Beltran used laser cutting as a tool to express her "idea of cities as an agglomeration of stories". She laser cut fabric into a set of "clouds". Each layer of fabric represents "graphing of top searched words throughout the year 2010, across thirty cities, showcased seasonal trends and implied information about each city when studied as a collective".

Recently, WE LASERS has been given a task to design and complete a few interior spots for Columbus Idea Foundry - the largest co-working space in The Midwest. We've decided to start with the most exciting spot - a phone booth. A space where you can escape into a completely environment different. The Idea for the themed design popped up almost immediately. We started thinking what was the most prominent and versatile way to pass information in the industrial era or even mow. What boosted communication between people and continents and made technological progress almost inevitable. Morse Code ladies and gentlemen. In this project we were to laser cut regular 12X12 in 4 mm corrugated cardboard boxes into irregular ones. Our client-artist was inspired by chalk marks measuring time. Another proof of versatility of lasers and laser cutting technology.
